Our annual 10th grade tournament has been booked in for Sunday 12th of August 2018.


This year we have decided to open the tournament up to all 10th grade divisions – including Under 10 Girls teams. Entered teams will be placed in separate pools depending on their current WaiBop grading. Finals will be held for each pool in the competition giving children with a range of skill levels the ability to play in a tournament final!


Teams can have up to 10 players, using rolling substitutes. The duration of all matches will be 20 minutes (2 x 10 minutes halves) Halftime will be 1 minute duration and there will be some time between games. There will be no injury time allowed for. Please ensure you are ready to start on the hooter.

Each team will have at least 4 games, provided pools are filled. Waipuna Football Club will endeavor to provide a CBR for each game, however this may not be possible for every pool game so please ensure you have a Referee for your team who is prepared to ref a half per game.

The usual rules, which are used for Saturday games will apply. Only children registered to play in 10th grade football (or below in special circumstances) will be accepted.

The first games will start at 9.00am.

Games start and finish at the sound of the hooter, with a turn around at half time.  There will be 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.

In the event of a tie following pool play, the following order will be used to decide final placings:

  1. Goal difference
  2. Goals scored for team
  3. Result of game between teams in question
  4. Flip of a coin

In the event of a draw in quarter-finals, semi-finals or finals, a penalty shoot out will be used to determine the winner. Extra time will be played in the finals only.  The winners will receive the trophy and medals. Runners Up will receive medals. There will also be spot prizes.

Sausage sizzle and drinks will be available for purchase.  Please remember to bring your own water bottles, and sunscreen!
